Europa has arrived! At long last, KlezFactor’s Europa is available for purchase. You’ve been reading about how we created it on two continents, playing a tour in Germany and the Czech Republic with recording in Germany and Canada (although we haven’t quite gotten to the Canadian part of the story yet… keep coming back to hear that).
Europa was originally conceived in 2012 when playing the German version of KlezFactor but it wasn’t until 2015 that we were able to get back together for the Europa Tour and recording sessions. From the recording in Dresden, Germany in July 2015 to some subsequent recording in Berlin a few days later, to other sessions in Toronto and Hamilton, Ontario, Canada from October to December 2015, Europa’s recording was truly a transcontinental affair!
Europa features the Berlin-based band of Mike Anklewicz (saxophone, clarinet), Alex Bayer (bass), Florian von Frieling (guitar), Finlay Panter (drums) and Daniel Weltlinger playing KlezFactor’s eclectic compositions that blend klezmer, rock, jazz, Balkan and Middle-Eastern music. Back in Canada, Jarek Dabrowski added extra guitar tracks while Paul Georgiou added middle-eastern percussion. Finally, Ekaterina sang “Kolomiyka,” bringing an extra layer of power to the track.

For at least the next six months, Europa will not be available on iTunes, Apple Music or any streaming website. Support independent music and purchase downloads or CDs!
