KlezFactor is known for the high caliber of musicians that have made the band their home. Musicians with training in the spheres of jazz, classical, folk and world music have all made great contributions to the band’s sound.
KlezFactor’s lineup has grown and shrunk over the years. Founded by composer/saxophonist/clarinetist Mike Anklewicz in 2004, the band has included pianist Ali Berkok (founder of Aurochs and Arkana Music), drummer Gregg Brennan (founder of Aiseiri), bassist Steve Gotlib, guitarist Mark Pellizzer (currently playing with Magic!), bassist Michael Smith (founder of Muskox), cellist Erika Nielsen (The Bicycle Opera Project), drummer Max Senitt (currently playing with Alex Cuba, The Flying Bulgars among other projects), old-time fiddler Ben Plotnick, and classical violinist Jennifer Burford.
