Songs from a Pandemic Winter: More info!

KlezFactor is proud to announce more information on the upcoming release of “Songs from a Pandemic Winter”! Check out the final trailer above to hear clips from each of the five songs!

We’ll be releasing the songs one at a time on Bandcamp, to be purchased for $1 each, before collecting the songs for availability on CD Baby and Spotify and other streaming sites.

We’re also so happy that we were able to bring in some amazing guests for this recording!

Klezfactor is:

“Mardi Gras Fever Dream” – a blend of New Orleans brass band sounds and Middle-Eastern rhythms with some funky guitar and saxophone too! Keep your ears open for the cowbell.*

Fun fact: the “cowbell” is actually a cast iron skillet, because Paul didn’t have a cowbell.

“Third Wave Lockdown” – Punk klezmer? Yes, please! It gets a little trippy in the middle with a great solo from guitarist Jarek Dabrwoski too!

“Lake Michigan Klezmer Fantasy” – Intertwining klezmer melodies over an amazing bed of tsimbl (a small dulcimer-like instrument similar to the Cimbalom).

Fun Fact: The feel of this tune is inspired by a track by the amazing Marilyn Lerner called “Romanian Fantasy,” from the album of the same name!

“Oyfn Veg Shteyt a Boym” – a classic Yiddish lullaby gets the Pandemic DIY treatment with a stellar vocal by singing superstar Melanie Gall!

“Winter’s Groove” – an original “jam” track in the spirit of the psychedelic era bands like The Doors and the Grateful Dead. We get an amazing solo from violinist Kousha Nakhaei!

Fun Fact: This tune was inspired by the 1969 album “Middle Eastern Rock” by Armenian-American oud player John Berberian. Check it out. And all of his other stuff . . . it’s awesome.
