KlezFactor Performs with the Toronto Jewish Male Choir

We hope that you can see KlezFactor in our next concert! We’re going to be joining the Toronto Jewish Male Choir and Cantor Tibor Kovari for their concert on Sunday, November 20 at the Chabad Lubavitch of Markham on Green Lane (east of Bayview) in Thornhill.

This is an incredibly eclectic programme of music (just how we like it at KlezFactor)! There’s music from the Cantorial tradition, from the more modern liturgy, from the great Yiddish songbooks, from Leonard Cohen and, of course, from KlezFactor.

The Toronto Jewish Male Choir has been singing in Toronto for a quarter of a decade. Started by Jewish singers from South Africa, the choir has grown to include singers from several synagogues but make their home at Chabad Lubavitch of Markham.

Cantor Tibor Kovari is the khazn at the Beth Tikvah but was born in Cluj, Romania. He worked in Bucharest and studied in Hungary and New York before becoming the cantor at the Beth Israel Synagogue in Halifax, Nova Scotia. He has been the khazn at the Beth Tikvah since 2003.
