KlezFactor

Band Toronto small

KlezFactor, Toronto’s most unique sounding Klezmer-fusion ensemble, has been bringing their sound to the world since 2004.  Their two albums, “The Golem of Bathurst Manor” (2005), and “Klezmachine” (2008) have both garnered rave reviews for their high levels of musicality, originality and seamless blending of musical styles.

KlezFactor has performed all over North America, including venues in Toronto, Montreal, New York, Boston, and Philadelphia.  They have been featured at festivals including the Ashkenaz Festival, Montreal International Jazz Festival, Junction Arts Festival and the Niagara Folk Arts Festival.  Their music has been heard on the radio in 5 countries and on 4 continents, and members have appeared on the internationally syndicated television series “Kenny vs. Spenny.” In addition, their music was heard on the Global Television Network’s production of Canada’s Walk of Fame Gala Ceremony in 2011.

KlezFactor performed in Europe in 2012, spending most of their time in Berlin and playing a variety of venues there.

The band was quiet back in North America in 2013 and 2014 while bandleader Mike Anklewicz completed his PhD in ethnomusicology but KlezFactor returned to Europe in the summer of 2015, performing at jazz clubs in Berlin, Dresden and Prague and recording their third album, Europa, released in July of 2016.

KlezFactor has been performing in Toronto in 2016 and are currently booking their schedule for the second half of 2016 and into 2017.
